Threshold Thursday: "The Sacred Dance of Self-Compassion

Welcome to Threshold Thursday on the Season of Self-Love podcast! 🌟 I'm your host, Nyomi Banks, and today we're diving deep into the sacred dance of self-compassion. This week has been nothing short of transformative as we explore the powerful, interconnected streams of healing — from sacred words to music as medicine, and finally, listening to our body's wisdom. 🌱✨

On today's episode, we’re exploring the three essential streams of self-compassion that flow through us, each offering its unique healing power. From Dr. Will's guidance on the power of mantras to Darlene's deep dive into intuitive body healing, we learn how true self-compassion is holistic and multifaceted. These three streams — words, music, and body wisdom — come together to create real transformation. 🎶🧘🏽‍♀️

We also connect this to our DVD principles — Decision, Visualization, and Discipline — and see how they integrate these streams of healing into our everyday lives. By making decisions to heal, visualizing ourselves whole, and committing to the discipline of consistent healing practices, we unlock our deepest potential for growth. 🌿💪 If you’re ready to embrace full, compassionate healing, this episode is for you. I want you to take that first conscious deep breath with me. I want you to inhale deeply in through your nose and release gently through your mouth. Now we each breath, I want you to feel yourself opening to compassion, feel how it flows both inward and outward, feel how it connects to all parts of your journey. Breathe in again, excel out my more breath in has out, and when you are ready, gently open your eyes. All right, beautiful people, if you are new here to the season and Self Love podcast is something that we do day Monday through Friday. All right, So this week has been amazing, it really has. So let's talk about something that we're going to talk about, the three streams of compassion. Yes, we hit three streams of compassion this week for me. This week has revealed something so profound about self compassion that it flows to us through different streams, each one carrying its own medicine. So let me break this down now. On the first stream. Our first stream is the power of sacred words. Remember when Monday, when Doctor Will and he showed us how mantres aren't just positive statements, but that they're the key to unlock our own healing power. But I also remember what he talked about how important it is to embrace, embrace our imperfections. So when we had to create a personal mantra, right, it wasn't just about finding pretty words. It was about discovering language that resonate with our soul truths. And I have to say something real with you. You know how sometimes you say affirmations about don't really feel them. Well, that's because we often are using someone else's words. But when you find your words, like we did with Doctor Will, words that speak your truth, something shifts inside. That is what real self compassion is, and it's giving yourself permission to speak your own healing into existence. Now let's talk about the second stream. The second stream, the medicine of music. What Tuesday showed us something powerful about healing through rhythm and melody. So when we explored earthwind and fires on your face, we weren't just listening to the music. We were tapping into ancestual wisdom about self love and healing. You see, Family, sometimes when words fail us, music speaks those moments when the song finds you exactly when you need it. That's not coincidence. That's divine tiny that's divine compassion, and it's flowing through melody. So music becomes medicine when we left without no words, and it let us speaks to our soul and our thirst dream. Our third dream is called body wisdom and intuitive healing. Yesterday, Darlene taught us something crucial about our bodies carrying their own wisdom. You see what self compassion isn't just a mental or emotional thing. It's physical too. It's about listening to our bodies and messages and honoring their needs and creating sacred space for healing. I mean when we reject our bodies, our body tells us, when we push through pain and ignore our intuition, we're actually rejecting a form of self compassion. Real healing happens when we learn. When we learn to trust our inner knowing. Now here's where it gets powerful. These three streams, right, they're meant to flow together. Just like we need breath, water, and food to live, we need words, we need music and body wisdom to heal. That's what true self compassion looks like. It's comprehensive, it's holistic, and it's complete. So what I want to do, family, is I want to bring in our message matrix. You know, I want to understand how I want you to understand how all of these streams work together in real life. All right, So let's do the three columns again, and column one, what's actually happened? What has actually happened When we find ourselfs struggling? What we often reach for just one from form of healing. Or maybe we try a positive self talk but ignore our body needs. Or we listen to inspiring music but don't create personal mantrance that reinforce that message. So let me break this down with an example from my own journey. So remember when I shared about my health challenges. At first, I was only looking at one stream, a medical solution. But this week showed me how all three streams need to flow together. The mantrust to help me to speak healing into existing. The music connects me to deeper wisdom in the body work. It helps me to trust my own intuition. Now let's go into column two. Our initial response on my initial response, our first instinct is often to separate these practices. Right. We think mantras are just for meditation time, and we see music as just for entertainment, and we treat our bodies as separate from our spirits. But family, the family, the separation is what keeps us from a deeper healing. A separation is what keeps us from a deeper healing. So let's go into column three. The deeper message here, what spirit is showing us true self compassion is like three strand chord. It's like a three strand chord. Words give voice to our healing. Music give rhythm to to our journey embody wisdom. Guys are path When these streams flow together, that's when real transformation happens. It's like we're doing a braid. You take those three cores and you braid them into a braid, and you see how my braid is here. This is it right here, this is it? Mm hmmmm, isn't that something? So? Now, let's talk about the DVD Principles. You know, remember earlier this year we talked about using a DVD principles as a foundation in the core of our self love, our healing process, in about the rebirth and so on. This DVD principles, we're going to talk about the sacred integration of them all. Now, now let's look how DVD principles bring us these streams together. All right, decision, d decision. This isn't just about choosing to heal, It's about choosing completeness. So when doctor Will guided us in creating Mantress, he wasn't just teaching us about words. He was showing us how to decide to trust our own voice. So when we explored earth Wind in Friar's Wisdom, we were deciding to let music be medicine. And when Darlene taught us about body wisdom, we were deciding to trust our intuition. So now let's talk about visualization. I want you to picture yourself standing where three rivers meet. That's what integrating healing looks like. Your mantress becomes songs, your song becomes movement, your movement becomes prayer. This is seeing yourself whole and not fragmented. And now let's talk about discipline a last in our principles. Here's where the real work happens. Every day. Speak your mantra with conviction, let healing music flow through your space, and honor your body's wisdom. It's not about doing everything perfectly. It's about consistently showing up for your own healing in multiple ways. All right. So, family, before we close today, I want you to pull out your purpose pen and your purpose paper for this sacred work. All right. First, I want you to create what I call a compassion map. We're gonna call it a compassion map, right all right. And the first thing that I want you to write is words of power. Words of power. Then I want you to write your personal mantra, a note of which word resonate deepest with you, and list the phrases that make your soul sing. And then now I want you to do number two Songs of healing. I want you to name three songs that heal your heart and write down the lyrics that speak truth to you. And also I want you to make knowledge and note when the music finds you at perfect moments, meaning that for me, when I was singing at the altar. At that moment when I heard it, it took me back to what my father and I was in our first home. I think I was going to maybe two three years old. I remember this, and we lived in Morgan Park, and I remember I guess my mom and them they were you know, newly not newly was, but they were, you know, been married for two or three years and they had like a two year old and so they had very humble beginnings. So we lived in this this garage that was turned into an apartment, and I just remember those moments, and that's where the music found me at all right, I just went on to someone and next Body wisdom. Body wisdom is the third one. Write down what your body, what your body has been telling you. Note when you need more gentle care and less ways that you can honor your inner knowing. All right, now, I want you to hold that paper, hold that paper that you've just written all that stuff on, hold it to your heart, and I want you to repeat that to me. I want you to say this, I choose to tell all streams of healing flow through me. I am worthy of complete compassion. I write my beautiful people well tomorrow for Freedom Friday, we will celebrate on how far that we've come in understanding self compassion, and we'll see how these streams of healing prepare us for a eber deeper growth ahead. So until then, I want you to remember that true self compassion isn't just one note, it's a full symphony. It's not just one word, it's a complete story, and it's not just one practice, it's a way of life. So have an amazing day and keep letting those healing streams flow.
